The 2021 Whiplash Reforms – How They Affect Your Claim

On 31st May 2021, the UK Government introduced the Whiplash Reform Programme, changing how low-value road traffic accident claims are handled. Under the new system:

• Whiplash claims valued at £5,000 or less must now be made through the Official Injury Claim (OIC) portal.

• Compensation is based on a fixed tariff set out in the Civil Liability Act 2018.

• Solicitors’ fees are not recoverable for claims under £5,000, but I can still assist in ensuring you receive the maximum compensation available.

Compensation for whiplash injuries occuring after 31st May 2025 are due to rise in line with the below, depending on the length of your recovery:

Recovery may require physiotherapy, pain management, and posture correction exercises. In more severe cases, prolonged treatment may be needed.

Can you still make a Whiplash Claim with Inson Legal?
